There's no doubt that your acquaintance with Russia will be incomplete without plunging into its art and culture. The Tretyakov Gallery is one of the most famous art museums in the world. Their collection covers a whole millennium of Russian cultural development, the Golden Age of Russian Art.

The dominant structure at Kolomenskoye is the Church of the Ascension, the earliest existing structure. In the 16th century it served as a summer church for the Tsar’s Family. It was erected to mark a momentous event- the birth of a long- awaited heir to the Russian throne, the future Ivan IV, called Ivan the Terrible. The church reaches a height of 62 meters.

The Secret Soviet Bunker-42, also known as the Cold War Museum Moscow is the only one declassified military object in Russia. It is located at a depth of 65 meters under the ground in the center of Moscow.

The Novodevichy Convent is one of the most beautiful monastic ensembles in Russia. It was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2004. It is a dazzling architectural gem with crenellated walls of white brick, red-capped towers and gleaming onion domes. It is a complex of 14 buildings including living, utility constructions, bell towers and churches.

This is the oldest museum in Russia since the collection was started by the grand princes of Muscovy in the 14th century. The Treasure House, the first depository for valuables was built in the Kremlin in 1485.
