Ellada – Vision of My Dreams

Passing by the St.Petersburg Central Exhibition Hall “Manege” near the St. Isaac’s Cathedral I decided to have a look at the temporary exhibition held there - “Ellada – Vision of My Dreams”. I had no idea of the subject. As many other people when in Greece I usually go to the sea and taverna not museums.

It appeared that Greece has not only beautiful sea, tasty food and a lot of ancient monuments!

In two hours at the exhibition I formed a rather clear notion of Greek paintings starting from the end of the 19th century up to nowadays. Alongside with them there were works of Russian masters inspired by Greece. The exhibition is really interesting for those who know Greece only as a country of “mousakas” and Zeus.

And one more time I got added evidence that St. Petersburg could give you a chance to enrich your knowing of the World.
